Density fits the task
Make data surfaces compact and reading surfaces roomy; don't use one density everywhere.
Draft — not yet reviewed by a maintainer
Why it matters
Data is scanned and compared, so every extra pixel of padding hides a row. Marketing and reading surfaces are read once and need air. One density everywhere fails one of the two.
The 48px row height and 1.5 line-height in the check are curator choices; the cited sources say data surfaces may be denser but give no numbers. A maintainer should confirm or change them when signing this rule.
How to check it
At 1440×900, data rows are 48px tall or less; reading text has line-height 1.5 or more.
The default it guards against
Data tables with card-sized rows and generous padding, or landing sections packed edge to edge like a spreadsheet.

Where it comes from
- AGENTS.md §13, v1.1 (tag v1.1-archive): research and database surfaces may be denser than marketing surfaces
