Why it matters
320 px is a 1280 px screen at 400% zoom, and the width of small phones. Scrolling sideways to read each line makes the page unusable for people who zoom.
How to check it
At 320 px, the document is no wider than the viewport and no text is clipped.
The default it guards against
Fixed min-widths, long unbroken URLs or a row of nowrap buttons that pushes the page wider than the screen.
